Veya — Privacy Policy

Veya (“Veya”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) is an on-device screen translator for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does with data and how your privacy is protected.
The short version: Veya does its work entirely on your device. There is no account, no advertising, and no analytics. Your screenshots, text, and translations are never sent to us or to any third party, and most of the app works fully offline.
1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
None. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:
- Veya does not require you to create an account or sign in.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, device identifiers, or any usage or behavioural data.
- We run no servers that receive your data, because the app never sends any.
3. How Veya handles the content you translate
When you translate a screen, the image and the text it contains are processed only in memory, on your device:
- Text is recognised on-device with Apple’s Vision framework.
- The language is detected on-device with Apple’s Natural Language framework.
- Translation is performed on-device with Apple’s Translation framework.
Your screenshots and the text you translate are never uploaded, never sent to us, and never shared with third parties. Anything the app keeps (such as app settings) is stored only on your device; deleting the app removes it.
4. Permissions
Veya requests no special permissions. It does not access your camera, photo library, microphone, contacts, or location. You decide what to translate — Veya receives that image only when you explicitly trigger it (for example, via the Action Button or the iOS Shortcuts / Share flow).
5. Language downloads (Apple)
To translate offline, iOS may download language packs from Apple. These downloads are performed and managed by iOS / Apple as a system service and are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. The text you translate is not sent to Apple as part of on-device translation.
6. Analytics, tracking, and advertising
Veya contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking libraries. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA).
7. Third parties
We do not share data with third parties, because we do not collect any. Veya is distributed through the Apple App Store; your use of the App Store is subject to Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
8. Children’s privacy
Veya is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal data, it collects none from children.
9. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)
Because Veya does not collect or process personal data on our side, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or delete. You remain in full control of any data stored locally on your device, which you can remove at any time by deleting the app.
10. Data security
Keeping all processing on your device means your content is not exposed to network transmission or to server-side storage by us.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top.
